Calculated Hire is supporting a leading financial services client in their search for a Process Engineer IV to support enterprise process intelligence and agentic automation initiatives. This role will focus on observing and analyzing business workflows, identifying optimization opportunities, and translating process insights into automation-ready requirements for engineering, product, and operations teams.
Job Description
The Process Engineer IV will play a key role in delivering the Observe-to-Agent lifecycle, helping business and technical teams better understand current-state workflows and identify opportunities for AI-enabled automation. This person will support process observation, workflow analysis, documentation, and cross-functional delivery across multiple personas, applications, and operational teams.
The ideal candidate will have strong process engineering experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to understand both business workflows and technical integration points. This role is best suited for someone who can partner with business stakeholders, engineers, product owners, data teams, and operations SMEs to turn observed workflows into clear, actionable process improvements and automation requirements.
Responsibilities
• Execute all phases of the Observe-to-Agent lifecycle, including observe, analyze, optimize, and run.
• Understand business workflows by observing user behavior, process steps, system interactions, and operational pain points.
• Configure observation tools, apply activity tagging, and support persona-level workflow modeling.
• Partner with engineering teams to translate observed business processes into actionable agentic AI features, automation opportunities, and technical requirements.
• Deploy and support process intelligence tools, including SKAN.ai or similar task mining, process mining, or observation-based discovery platforms.
• Validate data capture, clickstream activity, masking protocols, and privacy/governance requirements.
• Operate and refine digital twin/process intelligence outputs to identify workflow inefficiencies, process variation, friction points, and automation potential.
• Create structured process documentation, SOPs, workflow maps, and automation-ready requirements for downstream engineering and operations teams.
• Support continuous observation cycles, including telemetry accuracy, logging standards, audit readiness, and data quality validation.
• Collaborate with teams on data masking, clickstream capture, LLM-driven insights, multi-application workflow analysis, and process analytics.
• Analyze call-time activity, multitasking behavior, application usage, mainframe-level activity, and task-level productivity patterns.
• Track delivery milestones, resolve blockers, validate outputs, and communicate progress across business and technical teams.
• Partner closely with business sponsors, product owners, data scientists, engineers, and operations SMEs to align observations, insights, and recommendations.
• Communicate findings clearly to support decision-making, operational transformation, and automation prioritization.
Required Skills
• 6+ years of experience in process engineering, process improvement, workforce analytics, task mining, automation, business process analysis, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of business processes with the ability to observe workflows, identify gaps, and document current-state and future-state processes.
• Hands-on experience supporting agentic AI, intelligent automation, process mining, task mining, workflow optimization, or related automation initiatives.
• Ability to understand the design, architecture, and implementation approach behind agentic automation or AI-enabled solutions.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to ask thoughtful questions, gather process details, and translate business workflows into clear documentation and requirements.
• Experience partnering with engineering teams, application teams, product owners, data teams, and business stakeholders.
• Ability to understand tool integrations, application impacts, data flows, and technical dependencies well enough to support conversations with engineers.
• Experience creating SOPs, workflow documentation, process maps, or automation-ready business requirements.
• Strong delivery and project management skills with experience managing timelines, milestones, blockers, and cross-functional outputs.
• Experience working across multiple applications, business personas, and operational workflows.
Desired Skills
• Experience with SKAN.ai or similar process intelligence, task mining, or process mining platforms.
• Experience with tools or concepts such as Celonis, UiPath Process Mining, UiPath Task Mining, FortressIQ, Soroco, clickstream analytics, digital twins, or observation-based discovery systems.
• Experience working with AI/ML teams, LLM-driven insights, AI agents, or agentic automation initiatives.
• Background in workforce analytics, productivity analytics, behavioral analytics, operational transformation, or workflow redesign.
• Experience supporting data masking, privacy controls, telemetry validation, logging standards, or governance requirements.
• Financial services, banking, operations, or enterprise transformation experience.
