ABOUT THE ROLE
Our client is a global life sciences leader with a diversified pipeline spanning oncology, cardiovascular/renal, women's health, radiology, and cell & gene therapy. As the organization undergoes a significant operating model transformation to increase agility and advance a robust portfolio of novel therapies, the Senior Manager, Integrated Medical Education & Development will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing medical education content strategy across multiple therapeutic areas. Reporting to the Associate Director, Integrated Medical Education & Content Strategy, you will lead the planning, creation, and delivery of high-impact educational and promotional materials for healthcare professionals, ensuring alignment with brand strategy, compliance standards, and omnichannel best practices. This is an opportunity to work in a fast-paced, matrixed environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams and external partners to drive innovation and excellence in medical education.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Own and maintain the medical education content plan across assigned therapeutic areas, balancing priorities, timelines, stakeholder needs, customer/channel requirements, and portfolio delivery.
- Collaborate closely with Commercial, Medical, Omnichannel, and agency partners to develop and execute integrated content strategies and deliverables, including peer-to-peer decks, speaker program materials, sales enablement tools, omnichannel assets, congress support, websites/tools, and campaign support materials.
- Translate brand strategy, omnichannel priorities, approved messaging, clinical/scientific inputs, and stakeholder direction into clear content plans, slide narratives, modular asset direction, and creative briefs.
- Lead the development, refinement, and review of peer-to-peer materials, speaker program assets, discussion guides, case-based content, and production-ready creative briefs, ensuring alignment with compliance and regulatory standards.
- Apply practical experience with AI-enabled content creation to improve first-draft development, content adaptation, reuse, briefing quality, and workflow efficiency, while maintaining human review and compliance expectations.
- Oversee multiple concurrent commercial content projects across therapeutic areas, balancing competing priorities and timelines to ensure seamless delivery across channels and audiences.
- Partner with Creative, Editorial, PM/Ops, Medical, Omnichannel, Commercial, and agency/studio teams to troubleshoot content issues and maintain smooth review and approval processes.
- Monitor quality, throughput, audit readiness, version control, performance, and risk areas; escalate gaps related to claims, missing inputs, conflicting feedback, AI-generated content, channel adaptation, or timelines as needed.
- Leverage HCP engagement data, channel performance metrics, stakeholder feedback, and campaign learnings to optimize content strategy, channel mix, audience targeting, reuse opportunities, and future content development.
- Serve as the commercial content connection to production studios, ensuring complete production inputs, templates, references, asset requirements, omnichannel specifications, and stakeholder direction.
- Provide periodic reporting to leadership on content performance, delivery status, review readiness, quality, reuse, production effectiveness, and AI-enabled efficiencies.
- Partner with internal and external teams—including agency, studio, offshore, media, and third-party vendors—to ensure content is strategically aligned, operationally complete, audience-targeted, production-ready, and delivered against timeline, quality, and performance expectations.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Advanced healthcare or scientific degree (PharmD, PhD, MD, MSN, NP, PA, MPH, or MS preferred); candidates with a PhD (1–3 years), Master’s (3–5 years), or Bachelor’s (5+ years) may be considered with equivalent additional experience.
- 5+ years of experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare, or medical communications agency environments, with proven expertise in medical writing, clinical content creation, commercial content strategy, and omnichannel content development.
- Demonstrated success developing and executing integrated medical education strategies, including speaker programs, peer-to-peer initiatives, HCP education, promotional and scientific content development.
- Proven experience leading content development within pharma, medical affairs, commercial, promotional, peer-to-peer, omnichannel, and agency/studio production environments.
- Strong leadership, advanced scientific/clinical writing judgment, commercial content fluency, and omnichannel awareness, with the ability to translate complex clinical data and strategy into high-quality content deliverables.
- Experience supporting both Medical Affairs and Commercial organizations, including promotional campaigns, product launches, HCP engagement initiatives, and field-facing educational programs.
- Working knowledge of AI-enabled content creation and development, including responsible use of AI for drafting, adaptation, briefing, reuse, workflow acceleration, and quality support in a compliant environment.
- Strong client-service orientation with demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders, manage competing feedback, align cross-functional teams, and maintain trusted relationships with Medical, Marketing, MLR, media, agency, vendor, and KOL partners.
- Detail-oriented execution with governance precision, strong communication, cross-functional collaboration, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a regulated environment.
- Familiarity with Veeva/Content Factory, CRM platforms, Smartsheet, SharePoint, DAM, AI-enabled content tools, and related content/workflow systems preferred.
- Experience in cardiovascular, renal, prostate cancer, stroke, or women’s healthcare, or demonstrated ability to quickly build fluency across multiple therapeutic areas and translate clinical, competitive, and customer insights into clear HCP education strategies and content deliverables.
- Proactive, self-directed mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment while managing multiple priorities and influencing cross-functional stakeholders.
WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU
- Opportunity to work with a global life sciences leader on high-impact, cutting-edge programs
- Collaborative, fast-paced, and matrixed team environment
