Public Health Marketing Coordinator
Nashville, TN - Hybrid role
$30 an hour+
9 Month Contract
ABOUT THE ROLE
Our client is seeking a Public Health Marketing Coordinator for a hybrid, contract position based in Nashville, TN. This role is responsible for developing and executing strategic marketing and communication initiatives to support regional and local public health services across seven regions and 89 counties in Tennessee. The coordinator will collaborate closely with Central Office and Regional leadership, as well as the Office of Communications, to ensure consistent, accurate, and engaging messaging tailored to the unique needs of local communities. The position will also work with an advertising firm to create and design marketing campaigns. Reporting to Community Health Services (CHS), the coordinator will play a key role in facilitating workgroups, managing digital and print content, maintaining web pages, designing marketing materials, and supporting community outreach efforts. The ideal candidate is a creative communicator with strong organizational skills and experience in marketing, digital communications, and community engagement. Up to 25% travel within the state may be required.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Facilitate workgroups with state and regional leadership to develop and implement regional and local marketing strategy plans aligned with the CHS Strategic Plan.
- Collaborate with an advertising firm to create and design marketing campaigns that support public health initiatives.
- Create and coordinate marketing content requests by submitting to the Office of Communications within established timelines.
- Develop, update, and maintain regional and local webpages, ensuring standardized organizational content while highlighting location-specific information, programs, services, and events.
- Design, coordinate, and obtain appropriate approvals for printed and digital marketing and educational materials in accordance with organizational branding and communication standards.
- Collaborate with Health Promotion Coordinators to create culturally relevant outreach and educational materials that address public health misinformation, build community trust, and improve awareness of health department services.
- Ensure all communications are consistent with organizational branding, messaging, and accessibility standards.
- Foster effective partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to support community engagement and public health outreach efforts.
- Monitor communication initiatives and recommend improvements to increase community engagement and the effectiveness of outreach campaigns.
- Manage multiple marketing projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to deadlines.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
- Experience developing marketing strategies and managing digital communications.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience creating print and web content.
- Ability to manage multiple marketing projects and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency with website content management systems, social media platforms, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Graphic design experience; familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite or Canva preferred.
- Knowledge of public health communication principles and community engagement strategies is a plus.
- Ability to travel up to 25% across Tennessee.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
