This role ensures accurate coding for cardiac evaluations, diagnostic testing, interventional cardiology procedures, and electrophysiology studies to support compliant billing and proper reimbursement. The Coder will collaborate with providers and clinical teams to clarify documentation, ensure coding accuracy, and maintain compliance with all regulatory and payer-specific requirements.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"font-family: sans-serif; font-size: 12px;\">\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"font-family: sans-serif; font-size: 12px;\">DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: sans-serif; font-size: 12px;\">Select and sequence ICD-10 and\/or CPT\/HCPCS codes\u00a0for\u00a0cardiology professional fee services, including but not limited to:<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: sans-serif; font-size: 12px;\">Cardiac catheterizations (left\/right heart caths)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: sans-serif; font-size: 12px;\">Angioplasty and stent placements<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: sans-serif; font-size: 12px;\">Pacemaker and ICD implantations and checks<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: sans-serif; font-size: 12px;\">Stress tests, EKGs, echocardiograms, Holter monitoring<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: sans-serif; font-size: 12px;\">Electrophysiology studies and ablations<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: sans-serif; font-size: 12px;\">Office and outpatient cardiology consultations and follow-up visits<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: sans-serif; font-size: 12px;\">Review provider documentation to ensure\u00a0accurate procedural coding, appropriate modifiers, and\u00a0E\/M level selection\u00a0that reflect the intensity and complexity of the visit.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: sans-serif; font-size: 12px;\">Validate documentation to support medical necessity and payer compliance requirements.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: sans-serif; font-size: 12px;\">Collaborate with providers and staff for\u00a0query resolution and documentation improvement.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: sans-serif; font-size: 12px;\">Maintain strict patient and provider confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA guidelines.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: sans-serif; font-size: 12px;\">Participate in Savista and client meetings, trainings, and ongoing performance evaluations as required.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: sans-serif; font-size: 12px;\">Maintain current working knowledge of\u00a0ICD-10, CPT\/HCPCS, NCCI edits, and payer-specific coding guidelines\u00a0specific to\u00a0cardiology and interventional procedures.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: sans-serif; font-size: 12px;\">Stay current on\u00a0CMS, AMA, and specialty society\u00a0coding updates relevant to cardiology.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong style=\"font-family: sans-serif; font-size: 12px;\">\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"font-family: sans-serif; font-size: 12px;\">SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: sans-serif; font-size: 12px;\">Required:<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: sans-serif; font-size: 12px;\">Active\u00a0AHIMA\u00a0credential (RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCA) or\u00a0AAPC\u00a0credential (CPC, COC, CCS-P, or related specialty).<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: sans-serif; font-size: 12px;\">Minimum of\u00a0two years of recent and relevant coding experience\u00a0in\u00a0cardiology, cardiovascular medicine, or interventional cardiology.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: sans-serif; font-size: 12px;\">Strong knowledge of\u00a0procedural coding, modifiers, and bundling rules\u00a0related to diagnostic and therapeutic cardiac procedures.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: sans-serif; font-size: 12px;\">Solid understanding of\u00a0anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology of the cardiovascular system.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: sans-serif; font-size: 12px;\">Ability to code with\u00a095% accuracy\u00a0while maintaining production and compliance standards.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: sans-serif;
