POSITION CONCEPT:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n The Supervisor is responsible for assisting in preparation of field installation subcontract packages; safely direction of subcontractor\u2019s work using a ZERO accident philosophy; monitoring daily work activities to assure subcontractors are supporting the overall project schedule.\u00a0Additionally, the supervisor will review the project design to identify any potential changes and work with contract personal to review and approve any contract change notices. The Supervisor will ensure the quality of all work performed while identifying construction critical items that may have potential of impacting the work schedule.\u00a0The supervisor will monitor the project for work rule compliance.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n EDUCATION:<\/strong><\/p>\n Required<\/strong>: Minimum high school education. Some construction management training is required.<\/p>\n Preferred<\/strong>: College degree is preferred. College\/Technical or Military Trade School(s) relevant to the position description, Associate of Applied Science. Previous General or Mechanical Contractor license holder. College degree may be considered in lieu of equivalent experience of four years with a bachelor\u2019s degree.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n EXPERIENCE:<\/strong><\/p>\n Required<\/strong>: Construction Supervisor should have at least 10 years\u2019 experience in heavy industrial\/commercial construction or construction management including 10 years of related or equivalent experience in piping, mechanical and \/or civil\/structural work in a power plant\/heavy industrial\/commercial building environment.\u00a0<\/p>\n <\/p>\n SUPERVISORY EXPERIENCE:<\/strong>\u00a0Indirect Supervision<\/strong>: Indirect supervision of contractors, subcontractors and assigned personnel.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n KNOWLEDGE\/SKILLS\/ABILITIES:<\/strong><\/p>\n Required<\/strong>: Knowledge of construction codes\/standards (AWS, ASME, ASTM, OSHA 0910\/1926, etc.) required. Previous experience in writing contract scope of work and working with contract administrators is required.\u00a0Must be able to plan and organize Mechanical and Civil\/Structural projects to support department goals.\u00a0Must possess strong leadership qualities and have team building skills including outage\/work task coordination, planning, scheduling, communication skills, and QA\/QC experience. Technical knowledge of mechanical\/electrical and\/or civil\/structural systems is required as well as contract administrative responsibilities including supervising contractors. Previous experience with computerized work management systems. Ability to cross train to new skillsets that maybe required such as project management, planning, estimating, bidding, awarding, scheduling, and oversee multiple tasks\/projects simultaneously frequently.\u00a0<\/p>\n <\/p>\n WORK CONDITIONS:<\/strong>\u00a0Handle multiple duties and responsibilities and be accountable for those actions.\u00a0Must be willing and able to work overtime as needed, nightshifts and weekends when required during planned, forced outages and as directed by management.\u00a0Work will be performed both indoors and outdoors and may include exposure to inclement weather, cold, heat, humidity, and high noise levels.\u00a0Must be able to travel to various locations within Energy Supply when required such as, (Bayside, Big Bend and Polk Power Stations, and various commercial building sites throughout Hillsborough and Polk County).<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n About Us:<\/strong><\/p>\n At Brooksource, relationships are the foundation of everything we do.
