This contract-to-hire position is responsible for supervising a team of 15\u201320 staff, managing registration for surgical, radiology, and ancillary modalities, and providing coverage across multiple departments including the Women&#8217;s Center, Breast Care Center, therapy registration, and Medical Office Building (MOB). The supervisor will monitor key performance indicators, drive process improvements, ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, and participate in staffing coverage as needed. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in outpatient authorizations, referrals, and denials management, proven leadership experience in a hospital or health system environment, and a commitment to high standards of accuracy and patient service.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<h3>WHAT YOU&#8217;LL DO<\/h3>\n<p><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Supervise and lead a team of 15\u201320 Patient Access\/Registration staff within the outpatient central registration area<\/li>\n<li>Oversee registration operations for surgical, radiology, and all other outpatient modalities<\/li>\n<li>Provide coverage and support for registration in the Women&#8217;s Center, Breast Care Center, therapy registration, and Medical Office Building (MOB) as needed<\/li>\n<li>Monitor and manage daily KPIs including collections, denial rates, registration accuracy, and work queue activity<\/li>\n<li>Maintain and review departmental reports; identify trends and drive process improvement initiatives<\/li>\n<li>Participate in staffing coverage, stepping in directly when call-outs or absences occur<\/li>\n<li>Conduct performance management activities including scheduling, time tracking, mentoring, coaching, and progressive discipline<\/li>\n<li>Train and evaluate staff to maintain high accuracy standards and reduce denials and write-offs<\/li>\n<li>Ensure compliance with payer guidelines, CMS, EMTALA, HIPAA, and organizational policies and procedures<\/li>\n<li>Partner with ancillary departments and support cross-functional staffing coordination<\/li>\n<li>Stay current with managed care updates and communicate changes to the team<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>WHAT YOU BRING<\/h3>\n<p><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Minimum 2+ years of supervisory or team lead experience in a healthcare setting<\/li>\n<li>3\u20135 years of Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) experience<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated experience with outpatient authorizations, referrals, and denials management<\/li>\n<li>Hospital-based experience required (small group practice experience alone will not meet the bar)<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated ability to manage KPIs, work queues, and team performance metrics<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency with EMR systems and Microsoft Office suite<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of insurance, financial clearance, and patient access operations<\/li>\n<li>Strong communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills<\/li>\n<li>Ability to step into coverage roles as needed<\/li>\n<li>High School Diploma or GED required; Associate&#8217;s Degree preferred (RHIT or RHIA accepted)<\/li>\n<li>Field of study: Business, Accounting, Finance, Health Administration, Nursing, or related field<\/li>\n<li>Preferred certifications: Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) via NAHAM or Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) via HFMA<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>PAS Supervisor &#8211; Outpatient Tampa, Florida<\/p>\n<p>For over 16 years, Medasource has established and maintained relationships that are designed to meet your IT staffing needs.
