This contract-to-hire opportunity is part of an initiative to insource Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) teams. The role requires high-quality, detail-oriented professionals with strong QA focus and the ability to code complex cases in high-acuity settings. <\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"font-size: 14px;\">WHAT YOU&#8217;LL DO<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Review, analyze, and accurately code inpatient medical records using ICD-10-CM\/PCS and other relevant coding systems<\/li>\n<li>Ensure coding quality and compliance with regulatory and organizational standards, maintaining ~95% accuracy<\/li>\n<li>Meet productivity targets by coding 2.0\u20132.5 charts per hour while prioritizing quality over quantity<\/li>\n<li>Apply specialty-specific coding expertise in areas such as Cardiovascular, NICU, Interventional Radiology, Orthopedics, Neurology, and OB\/Mother-Baby, as assigned<\/li>\n<li>Utilize Epic as the primary EHR system, some exposure to legacy systems like Meditech<\/li>\n<li>Participate in QA oversight, audits, and feedback processes to support continuous improvement and maintain high standards<\/li>\n<li>Attend required meetings and maintain alignment with team schedules; flexible work arrangements are available post-training<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate with team members and leadership to support a streamlined onboarding and transition process during Epic Go-Live<\/li>\n<li>Maintain confidentiality and security of patient health information in accordance with HIPAA and organizational policies<\/li>\n<li>Engage in ongoing professional development and certification maintenance (CCS, RHIT, or other AHIMA\/AAPC credentials)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong style=\"font-size: 14px;\">WHAT YOU BRING<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>CCS (Certified Coding Specialist) or RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician) certification required<\/li>\n<li>Additional AHIMA\/AAPC certifications (e.g., CIC, CCS-P, CVIP) are a plus<\/li>\n<li>4+ years of inpatient coding experience required (5+ years preferred); Coder III level preferred<\/li>\n<li>Experience in academic\/teaching hospitals and\/or trauma centers\/high-acuity facilities strongly preferred<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated ability to code complex cases and procedures, especially in high-priority specialties (Cardiovascular, NICU, IR, Orthopedics, Neurology, OB\/Mother-Baby)<\/li>\n<li>Ability to meet productivity targets (~2.0\u20132.5 charts\/hour) and maintain ~95% accuracy, with a strong quality assurance focus<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment, with flexibility to attend meetings and align with team hours<\/li>\n<li>Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong style=\"font-size: 14px;\">WHAT&#8217;S IN IT FOR YOU<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Remote work with flexible scheduling post-training<\/li>\n<li>All necessary equipment provided (laptop, dual monitors, headset)<\/li>\n<li>Opportunity to work with a leading healthcare organization during a major Epic system transition<\/li>\n<li>Collaborative team environment with strong QA oversight and support<\/li>\n<li>Contract-to-hire pathway with potential for long-term placement<\/li>\n<li>Professional development and certification support<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Inpatient Coder Chicago, Illinois<\/p>\n<p>For over 16 years, Medasource has established and maintained relationships that are designed to meet your IT staffing needs.
