Technical Project Manager
Downtown Atlanta, GA (30308)
Hybrid (Monday-Thursday onsite, Friday remote)
Compensation: $50 - $75 per hour
Long-term contract (anticipated up to 3 years), with opportunity for full-time conversion based on business needs and headcount availability
Start date: Mid-October
ABOUT THE ROLE
Brooksource is seeking a Technical Project Manager to join a highly collaborative PMO supporting a leading retail natural gas provider in downtown Atlanta, GA. In this long-term contract role, you will be responsible for delivering a diverse portfolio of technology and business initiatives. This is an ideal opportunity for a Project Manager who combines strong project delivery expertise with a technical background in software development, business analysis, or application delivery. You will thrive in a hands-on environment where Project Managers are expected to take ownership of projects from initiation through delivery, while also supporting business analysis activities and stakeholder engagement. The position offers a hybrid work schedule and the potential for full-time conversion based on business needs.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Manage multiple concurrent technology projects from initiation through implementation
- Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, risk logs, and status reporting
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather, document, and validate requirements
- Translate business objectives into actionable technical requirements
- Facilitate communication between technical teams, vendors, and business partners
- Identify project risks, dependencies, and mitigation strategies
- Lead project meetings, stakeholder communications, and executive updates
- Support scope management, budget tracking, and project governance activities
- Coordinate testing, implementation, and change management activities
- Ensure projects are delivered on time and aligned with business objectives
- Perform business analysis functions, including process documentation and requirements gathering
WHAT YOU BRING
- 5+ years of Project Management experience leading technology-focused projects
- Experience managing multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies
- Previous experience as a Business Analyst, Software Developer, or Technical Project Manager
- Ability to translate technical concepts to business stakeholders and vice versa
- Experience gathering and documenting business requirements
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Experience facilitating meetings and managing stakeholder expectations
- Experience working within utility, energy, or regulated industries (preferred)
- PMP certification (preferred)
- Agile, Scrum, or hybrid project delivery experience (preferred)
- Experience with application development projects (preferred)
- Knowledge of business process analysis and process improvement methodologies (preferred)
- Experience supporting billing, customer, financial, or operational systems (preferred)
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps, Jira, or other project tracking tools (preferred)
