Accessibility Compliance Analyst
Remote Role
This is a Remote role.
Compensation: $45 per hour
ABOUT THE ROLE
Our Client is seeking a Digital Accessibility Compliance Analyst to support statewide digital accessibility initiatives. This role provides technical testing, analysis, and reporting to ensure websites, applications, and digital content comply with WCAG 2.1 and 2.2 standards and ADA Title II requirements. The analyst performs both automated and manual accessibility audits, identifies compliance gaps, and produces evidence and documentation to support agency remediation efforts and the creation and maintenance of VPATs and Accessibility Conformance Reports (ACRs). The position operationalizes ADA Title II requirements through consistent validation, risk identification, and audit-ready reporting. Remote work is supported, with daily check-ins via Teams.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Conduct automated and manual accessibility audits of websites, web applications, and digital documents using WCAG 2.1 and 2.2 success criteria.
- Perform hands-on testing with assistive technologies and manual methods, including keyboard-only navigation, screen reader testing, focus order validation, form interaction review, color contrast checks, and semantic structure analysis.
- Evaluate digital experiences for accessibility barriers affecting users with disabilities and document findings with clear severity, impact, and remediation guidance.
- Review and interpret scan results from enterprise accessibility tools and supplement automated findings with manual validation to confirm actual compliance status.
- Partner with agencies, product teams, and content owners to support audit preparation and the development and maintenance of VPATs and ACRs.
- Produce audit artifacts, including detailed findings reports, executive summaries, issue logs, and evidence packages that support compliance documentation.
- Track remediation items, recurring defects, and agency follow-up actions to support ongoing compliance monitoring and issue resolution.
- Identify systemic accessibility risks and trends across agencies, platforms, and templates, and elevate high-risk issues for prioritization.
- Provide practical guidance to agencies on remediation approaches, testing expectations, and documentation needed for accessibility conformance reporting.
- Contribute to statewide accessibility governance by supporting standardized audit practices, reporting templates, and quality assurance procedures.
- Develop and maintain dashboards, scorecards, and summary reports on accessibility risk, recurring issues, and compliance progress over time.
- Prepare audit-ready documentation for complaints, reviews, and compliance inquiries.
- Participate in remote work and daily check-ins via Teams.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Strong knowledge of WCAG 2.1 and 2.2 standards and digital accessibility principles.
- Working knowledge of ADA Title II requirements related to digital accessibility compliance.
- Experience conducting both automated and manual accessibility testing for websites, applications, and digital documents.
- Proficiency with accessibility testing tools, browser extensions, developer tools, and assistive technologies.
- Ability to test with screen readers, keyboard navigation, forms, headings, landmarks, tables, media, and dynamic content.
- Skill in distinguishing between automated scan findings and issues requiring manual verification.
- Ability to document technical findings clearly and provide actionable remediation guidance for business and technical stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and evidence-based reporting practices.
- Experience managing issue tracking, audit artifacts, and follow-up activities across multiple agencies or workstreams.
- Strong written communication skills for preparing concise compliance summaries for leadership and program stakeholders.
- Experience creating or supporting VPATs and Accessibility Conformance Reports (ACRs).
- Experience auditing public sector websites, enterprise applications, or large multi-site environments.
- Familiarity with Section 508, procurement accessibility reviews, or accessibility conformance documentation.
- Experience with tools such as Siteimprove, Axe, WAVE, JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, Adobe Acrobat accessibility tools, or similar platforms.
- Experience developing dashboards, metrics, or trend reporting for compliance programs.
