Associate Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)
Remote (United States)
Remote role, Long-term Contract to Hire
$31 - $38 per hour
ABOUT THE ROLE
Join a Fortune 50 healthcare insurance leader as an Associate Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET), supporting claims processing applications and initiatives focused on detecting fraud, waste, and abuse. This remote, long-term contract-to-hire opportunity offers hands-on experience in test automation and application development, working closely with development and QA teams. You will gain exposure to modern testing frameworks and tools, contribute to the delivery of high-quality software solutions in the healthcare insurance sector, and benefit from comprehensive training, mentoring, and clear growth opportunities. Start Date: March 2026.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Build and deploy test versions of applications and configure non-production environments for comprehensive testing
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts, primarily using Python
- Collaborate with developers and QA teams to ensure high-quality software delivery
- Perform functional and integration testing using modern frameworks and tools
- Support claims processing applications and initiatives to detect fraud, waste, and abuse
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes
- Document test cases, results, and defects clearly and accurately
- Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies relevant to test automation
WHAT YOU BRING
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
- Internship or academic experience in application development
- Proficiency in Python and SQL
- Basic understanding of software testing principles
- Strong problem-solving skills and a positive, growth-oriented attitude
- Experience with Pytest (nice to have)
- Familiarity with AWS cloud services (nice to have)
- Knowledge of Kafka or other data streaming technologies (nice to have)
