About the Project
Our client's team is advancing an enterprise intelligent search and conversational AI platform that supports member benefits and care navigation across mobile and digital channels. They are moving beyond proof-of-concept AI features toward production-grade, scalable AI experiences that help members quickly find accurate, personalized answers.
This role will focus on building and operationalizing AI/ML solutions — including LLM, RAG, and agent-based capabilities — and connecting them to real enterprise data sources so AI features are reliable, secure, and useful in production.
Role Summary
The AI/ML Engineer will design and implement AI models and pipelines that power intelligent search and conversational experiences. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on model development, RAG pipelines, agent workflows, and ML DevOps. The engineer will work closely with platform, data, and application teams to ensure AI capabilities are properly integrated, deployed, and monitored across channels.
Key Responsibilities
AI/ML Development
- Build, train, and optimize ML and LLM-based solutions for intelligent search and conversational AI
- Implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines tied to enterprise knowledge sources
- Develop agent and prompt workflows that support benefits and care navigation use cases
- Apply feature engineering and evaluation techniques to improve model accuracy and reliability
Data & Knowledge Integration
- Prepare and process structured and unstructured data for AI workflows
- Connect AI models to knowledge bases, benefits data, provider data, and enterprise content sources
- Support metadata, data quality, and governance practices in AI pipelines
Deployment & MLOps
- Deploy AI/ML models using APIs, microservices, and containerized environments
- Build and maintain ML pipelines and CI/CD workflows
- Support monitoring, testing, and continuous model improvement
- Work with cloud AI services (Azure or AWS preferred)
Platform Integration
- Integrate AI components across mobile, web, and conversational channels
- Collaborate with platform and DevOps teams to ensure stable production deployment
- Support onboarding and configuration of new AI models and services
Collaboration
- Partner with AI platform teams, data engineers, and product teams
- Document models, pipelines, and implementation decisions
- Contribute to shared engineering best practices
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, or related field
- 3+ years of hands-on AI/ML or advanced software engineering experience
- Strong Python experience with ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, or similar)
- Practical experience with:
- LLMs
- RAG architectures
- Prompt design
- Conversational or search AI systems
- Experience deploying ML solutions to cloud platforms (Azure or AWS)
- Experience with MLOps and DevOps practices (CI/CD, containers, monitoring)
- Experience working with APIs and microservices architectures
- Strong cross-team communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with intelligent search or recommendation systems
- Experience with agentic AI frameworks
- Familiarity with Model Context Protocol (MCP) concepts
- Healthcare or member services experience
- Agile delivery experience
