ABOUT THE ROLE
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented SAP BOM & Product Data Specialist to manage and maintain critical product information for a portfolio of over 600 food products across five manufacturing facilities. This position plays a key role in ensuring the accuracy of product data, labeling, and regulatory compliance. It is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their career who is eager to learn, grow, and make an immediate impact within a fast-paced organization. The specialist will be responsible for maintaining and updating Bills of Materials in SAP, supporting data entry and system updates, and collaborating with internal teams to ensure accurate production documentation. The role also involves managing product information in retailer portals, reconciling and updating product specifications, and supporting commercialization and labeling processes—including adapting to significant regulatory changes coming in 2026. Your work will help ensure the company remains compliant, accurate, and efficient as it navigates a major industry shift.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Maintain and update Bill of Materials (BOM) for all products in SAP, ensuring every component and ingredient is accurate.
- Support day-to-day data entry, change requests, and system updates related to product data.
- Validate that all product details are correctly reflected in SAP and related systems.
- Collaborate with internal teams to maintain accurate production setups and documentation.
- Enter and maintain product information in retailer portals (e.g., Kroger, Walmart), ensuring product details flow accurately to retailer websites.
- Gather, reconcile, and update product specifications, images, claims, and regulatory information for retailer requirements.
- Manage retailer-specific requirements and product components.
- Review product information as it moves through the commercialization process and route data through artwork and packaging teams for approval.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of label approvals across five manufacturing sites.
- Support creation and management of case labels for multiple manufacturing facilities.
- Assist with updates and compliance related to new regulatory changes affecting all products in 2026.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Experience working in SAP, preferably with BOM or product data structures.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Experience supporting SAP implementations or system migrations (preferred).
- Background in the food industry or experience with product formulation/ingredient data (preferred).
- Familiarity with retailer product data portals (e.g., Kroger, Walmart) (preferred).
WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU
- Opportunity to make a direct impact on product data accuracy and regulatory compliance during a major industry transition.
- Exposure to a broad portfolio of products and collaboration with multiple manufacturing sites.
- Professional growth in SAP, product data management, and food industry compliance.
- Supportive team environment with opportunities to learn and develop new skills.
