Senior Microsoft 365 Business Analyst and Engineer

Remote Role

Compensation: $55


ABOUT THE ROLE

Our client is seeking a Senior Microsoft 365 Business Analyst and Engineer to play a vital role in analyzing, optimizing, and monitoring utilization, business processes, and collaboration across all Microsoft 365 applications. In this position, you will work closely with IT teams, vendors, and stakeholders across corporate divisions to support onboarding and offboarding of data, ensure technology solutions align with organizational goals, and generate detailed activity and usage reports. You will leverage your expertise in data visualization, automation, and reporting tools to drive actionable insights and process improvements. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical, technical, and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences. This is a fast-paced, customer-focused environment where you will be responsible for data management, project work, change management, and ensuring compliance with security and regulatory standards.


WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Partner with IT teams and vendors to support onboarding and offboarding of data within Microsoft 365 apps, including SharePoint Online, Teams, Exchange Online, and Entra ID
  • Collaborate with leadership and staff to ensure technology solutions align with organizational goals
  • Generate, analyze, and report on activity and usage metrics for Microsoft 365 applications, including Teams call metrics and recordings
  • Gather and analyze business requirements for software solutions and process improvements
  • Perform data administration activities such as data extracts, clean-up, reporting, and reconciliation across multiple systems
  • Monitor and maintain tenant health and performance of the Microsoft 365 environment, conducting audits and assessments for best practice adherence
  • Optimize performance and ensure compliance with security and regulatory standards for Microsoft 365 applications
  • Administer Microsoft AD and Entra ID support services
  • Develop and implement automation solutions using Microsoft PowerShell and Power Platform
  • Communicate plans, status, and issues to management and stakeholders regularly
  • Utilize advanced data visualization and reporting tools such as Excel and Power BI to drive insights
  • Lead or support project and change management initiatives related to Microsoft 365 services
  • Maintain strong documentation and provide clear, effective communication to both technical and non-technical audiences

WHAT YOU BRING

  • BS/BA degree in a related discipline and 4-6 years of relevant experience, or equivalent work experience
  • Strong technical knowledge of Microsoft 365 services, including SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Teams, Exchange Online, and Power Platform
  • Experience administering Microsoft AD and Entra ID support services
  • Proficiency in automation and Microsoft PowerShell scripting
  • Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to implement and maintain security best practices
  • Experience with data visualization and reporting tools (Excel, Power BI)
  • Project and change management skills
  • Experience administering Microsoft 365 in a multi-tenant environment
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to present technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to determine root cause of problems/issues and drive solutions
  • Strong work ethic, self-motivation, and a positive attitude
  • Preferred: Advanced proficiency in Excel and Power BI; experience managing Microsoft Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Entra ID, and on-prem Active Directory in a multi-tenant organization
