Remote U.S. (6-state preferred)

Hybrid Role

Compensation: $60-$65/hour

Expected to run through FY26


ABOUT THE ROLE

Our client is seeking an experienced Scrum Master with a strong background in IT project management, particularly within retail and eCommerce environments. The ideal candidate will have 5–10 years of relevant IT experience, including at least 3 years as a Scrum Master, and a proven track record of leading high-performing application development teams. In this role, you will deliver maximum value to customers by effectively coaching and developing Scrum teams, facilitating Agile ceremonies, and supporting the adoption of Scaled Agile (SAFe) processes. You will also manage project scope, schedule, and resources, communicate status to clients and partners, and ensure successful production releases. This position offers a remote work option within the U.S. (with preference for candidates in six specified states) and is expected to run through FY26.


WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Coach and develop high-performing Scrum teams to deliver maximum value to customers
  • Facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives
  • Support the team in following Scrum and Scaled Agile (SAFe) processes
  • Manage and report on project scope, schedule, resourcing, and status to clients and partners
  • Extract, document, and clarify requirements with stakeholders
  • Monitor team progress, identify issues, and work with the team to develop corrective actions
  • Ensure product quality expectations are defined and communicated across the team
  • Collaborate with technical teams and product owners to balance priorities and resolve issues
  • Remove impediments and roadblocks to enable team focus on engineering tasks
  • Lead conflict resolution and foster a collaborative team environment
  • Facilitate production releases and ensure successful code deployment
  • Guard against technical debt by scheduling defect remediation and refactoring
  • Limit external interference and distractions for the team
  • Support continuous improvement efforts through retrospective discussions
  • Apply knowledge of Agile and Waterfall practices as appropriate
  • Utilize project management tools such as MS Project, Visio, Excel, and ServiceNow
  • Serve as an arbitrator when conflicts arise and maintain a positive, collaborative team culture
  • Ensure financial controls and quality management tools are applied throughout project delivery
  • Manage multiple significant projects simultaneously, balancing competing priorities

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Business, or related field
  • 5–10 years of relevant IT experience, including 5+ years in IT Project Management
  • 3+ years as a Scrum Master
  • Retail/eCommerce and inventory systems experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with application development teams and integration projects
  • Knowledge of Agile and Waterfall practices; SAFe certification (SSM, SASM, SA, SPC, SPMPO) is a plus
  • Familiarity with Node.js, Java, Cassandra, and Kafka
  • PMP or Agile certifications preferred (e.g., Certified ScrumMaster, SAFe)
  • Proficiency in MS Project, Visio, Excel, Word; ServiceNow preferred
  • Strong communication, leadership, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional people skills; ability to serve as arbitrator in conflicts and work with diverse teams
  • Understanding of financial controls in project management and consulting
  • Practical understanding of scoping and estimating work
  • Experience managing multiple significant projects simultaneously
  • Practical use of quality management tools and techniques
  • Prior experience as a Business Analyst and/or Tester helpful, but not required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
