Junior Cloud Engineer

Brooksource is seeking a Junior Cloud Engineer to join our enterprise banking partner's Customer Communication Management (CCM) Platform team. This team is responsible for delivering high-volume, secure, and resilient alerts and notifications across email, SMS, and voice channels for banking, auto, and other integrated platforms.

As a Junior Cloud Engineer, you will work in a full-stack capacity supporting the infrastructure and UI components of a highly scalable AWS-based platform. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of alerts, maintain system reliability, and enhance customer communication experiences.

Key Responsibilities

•      Support the CCM Platform by scheduling and delivering alerts and notifications across multiple channels (email, SMS, voice).

•      Develop and maintain full-stack solutions for platform infrastructure and UI lifecycle dashboards.

•      Work with AWS services (Lambda, DynamoDB, SQL) and infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform to manage deployments and configurations.

•      Collaborate on API management and proxy integrations (transitioning from Apigee to Kong).

•      Ensure high availability and resilience for large-scale messaging systems handling sensitive customer data.

•      Participate in Agile ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint retrospectives) and deliver monthly demos to leadership showcasing platform enhancements.

Must-Have Skills

•      Proficiency in Node.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript for backend and full-stack development.

•      Hands-on experience with AWS services and conceptual understanding of cloud architecture.

•      Basic knowledge of unit testing and test-driven development practices.

•      Strong communication skills for demos and cross-team collaboration.

•      Knowledge of Agile/SCRUM frameworks and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-Have Skills

•      Familiarity with Terraform for infrastructure automation.

•      Exposure to AI use cases and ability to integrate emerging technologies.

•      Experience with Git/GitHub and understanding of Git flow.
