Job Title:
Radiology Scheduler
Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Diagnostic Imaging Scheduler to coordinate patient appointments across a variety of imaging modalities including MRI, CT, X-ray, Ultrasound, Mammogram, PET, and more. This role is integral to ensuring smooth patient flow and efficient scheduling within a fast-paced radiology department.
Responsibilities:
- Schedule diagnostic imaging appointments (MRI, CT, Ultrasound, etc.) using Cerner (UHS instance) and other EMRs as needed.
- Pre-admit patient accounts in Affinity; upload orders into Cerner following departmental protocols.
- Coordinate with physicians, imaging departments, and patients to ensure accurate and timely scheduling.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of imaging procedures to properly prioritize and sequence exams.
- Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with both internal teams and patients.
- Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with HIPAA and hospital policies.
Requirements:
- 2–3 years of experience in diagnostic/imaging scheduling required.
- Strong understanding of diagnostic imaging modalities and terminology.
- High attention to detail with the ability to multitask in a high-volume environment.
- Friendly, approachable, and professional demeanor with a commitment to patient-centered service.
- Experience with Meditech Magic preferred; willing to train if needed.
- Exposure to Cerner or MedHost helpful; no prior experience required for these systems
