Commercial Banking - Project Manager
Hybrid – Columbus, OH; Cleveland, OH; Detroit, MI; or Cincinnati, OH
Hybrid Role (Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm)6-Month Contract (Possible Extension)
Start Date: Flexible – ASAP
OVERVIEW
Join our client’s Commercial Strategy team as a Commercial Banking Project Manager on a 6-month contract with the possibility of extension, based in Columbus in a hybrid work environment. You will drive cross-functional strategic initiatives focused on market expansion, credit improvement, integration support, and process optimization. This role is responsible for leading and mobilizing large, high-visibility projects, supporting day-to-day execution and coordination of ongoing initiatives, and partnering closely with senior leadership to ensure seamless integration and delivery across multiple business lines. You will oversee process improvement and reporting frameworks, manage timelines and deliverables across 20–30 projects, and facilitate project planning and stakeholder alignment. The ideal candidate excels in change management, executive communication, and navigating ambiguity in a dynamic banking or financial services environment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of Project or Program Management experience leading large-scale initiatives
- Proven success managing and leading cross-functional teams in complex environments
- Strong change management expertise (must-have)
- Excellent communication and executive presentation skills
- Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel; Visio experience is a plus
- Background in Banking or Financial Services highly preferred
- PMP certification is a plus but not required
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and mobilize strategic initiatives across the Commercial Bank, including market expansion, credit improvement, integration support, and process optimization
- Facilitate project planning, execution, and stakeholder alignment for high-visibility projects
- Oversee process improvement and reporting framework initiatives
- Manage timelines, deliverables, and communications across 20–30 concurrent projects
- Support day-to-day execution and coordination of ongoing initiatives
- Partner closely with senior leadership to drive consistency, accountability, and seamless integration across business lines
- Support strategic and market deployment efforts across key functions
- Provide change management expertise to ensure successful project adoption
- Prepare and deliver executive-level communications and presentations
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives
- Monitor project risks and implement mitigation strategies
