Administrative & Transmission Analyst
Forest Park, GA
On-Site Role
Compensation: $20 per hour
ABOUT THE ROLE
Our client is seeking a versatile professional to fulfill a dual role as both an Administrative Specialist and Transmission Analyst, with responsibilities split approximately 50/50 between administrative support and analytical functions. In this position, you will provide high-level support to managers and staff, ensure compliance with company procedures, manage office operations, coordinate meetings and travel, and support project teams through effective communication with Compliance and HR. As a Transmission Analyst, you will gather and analyze contractor cost data, develop management reports, audit invoices, monitor contract spend, and support process improvements within the Substation organization. You will also participate in system steering committees, train new users, and assist with storm restoration duties as needed. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, experience with enterprise financial systems, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment. This position is based in Forest Park, GA, and requires a proactive, team-oriented individual capable of building effective relationships across various business units and demonstrating company values of Safety First, Superior Performance, Total Commitment, and Unquestionable Trust.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Provide administrative support including office supply management, meeting and event coordination, travel arrangements, office relocations, and project correspondence tracking
- Communicate professionally and responsively with managers, staff, Compliance, and HR to support project teams and emergent work requirements
- Ensure adherence to company administrative, accounting, and compliance procedures, including Southern Company standards
- Perform miscellaneous assignments as directed to support office and project operations
- Gather, review, and analyze contractor cost data and spending patterns for substation operations
- Audit invoices, verify accounts, organizations, and contracts for billing accuracy and compliance with contract terms and conditions
- Develop metrics and management reports to inform substation management decision-making
- Assess and implement process improvements and best practices in both administrative and analytical functions
- Respond to data requests from engineering leadership and provide ad hoc reporting as needed
- Train new users in CAMP and MOBI systems and participate as a member of the CAMP system-wide steering committee, recommending system upgrades
- Monitor contractor spend relative to overall contract authorized amounts and individual project budgets; review contractor work authorizations for scope and budget compliance
- Identify and refer work authorization issues to substation engineering oversight personnel as they arise
- Establish and maintain effective relationships and communications with substation engineering leadership, multiple levels of management, PMO, Financial Support, IT, contract firms, and other internal business units
- Coordinate activities across multiple teams to achieve project goals and consolidate deliverables
- Assist with storm restoration duties as required
- Demonstrate company values, organizational skills, and sound business judgment in all interactions
WHAT YOU BRING
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field; or Associate’s Degree with relevant experience
- 2+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or business administration preferred; 4+ years relevant experience if Associate’s Degree is in another field
- Knowledge of accounting and management reporting principles
- Proficiency with Enterprise Solutions applications (e.g., MAXIMO, Oracle, SAP, PowerPlant) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel with pivot tables, PowerPoint)
- Working knowledge of CAMP system and experience with related company systems (Oracle, iExpense, MOBI); Microsoft Access and Power BI a plus
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and planning skills
- Knowledge of data management and retrieval techniques with strong technical skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, coordinate activities, and deliver consolidated reports in a dynamic environment
- Effective oral and written communication skills with ability to interact across all organizational levels, including upper management
- Demonstrated personal ownership, initiative, and sound business judgment
- Ability to work collaboratively in a matrix organization and support emergent work requirements
- Ability to multi-task, adapt to changing environments, and anticipate and proactively communicate potential issues with contracts and invoicing
- Team player, proactive, and strategic thinker who demonstrates company values in all interactions
