Job Description:
Kootenai Health is seeking an experienced Biomedical Equipment Technician with a strong background supporting Operating Room and surgical equipment. - Experience troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining:

- Insufflators
- Smoke evacuation systems
- Dornoch or similar surgical fluid management equipment
- Additional surgical / perioperative biomedical devices
- Strong electrical, electronic, and mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Ability to perform both preventive and corrective maintenance
- Ability to independently diagnose equipment failures and determine appropriate repairs
- Comfortable working directly with surgeons, nurses, surgical technicians, and other clinical staff
- Ability to document repairs and service activity accurately within a CMMS
Nice to Haves:
- Experience with Stryker, Steris, CONMED, Medtronic, Olympus, Karl Storz, ERBE, or similar OR equipment manufacturers
- Dornoch-specific experience
- Broad exposure to multiple surgical equipment modalities
- Experience supporting a high-volume OR environment
- Anesthesia equipment experience is helpful but not required
- Previous experience working independently or as the primary BMET supporting surgical services
Education/Certification(s)/License(s):
- Associate degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology, Electronics, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field preferred
- CBET certification preferred but not required
- Equivalent military biomedical equipment training or comparable technical experience may be considered
