Position Overview
We are seeking a seasoned IT Project Manager to lead a large-scale GovRAMP compliance initiative supporting our client's Medicaid business. This role will oversee the governance, coordination, and execution of enterprise-wide compliance efforts to ensure cloud-based applications meet GovRAMP security requirements and NIST SP 800-53 standards.
The Project Manager will partner closely with Cybersecurity, Cloud Engineering, Infrastructure, Application Development, Legal, Compliance, and Vendor Management teams to drive compliance across client-owned applications and third-party vendor solutions supporting Medicaid members. This is a highly cross-functional program management role focused on governance, risk management, stakeholder coordination, and executive reporting rather than hands-on technical implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead enterprise-wide GovRAMP compliance initiatives supporting Medicaid cloud applications.
- Coordinate cross-functional efforts across Cybersecurity, Cloud Engineering, Infrastructure, Application Development, Compliance, Legal, and Vendor Management teams.
- Manage project governance, including RAID logs (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, and Dependencies), milestone tracking, issue resolution, and executive status reporting.
- Drive application readiness activities to ensure compliance with GovRAMP and NIST SP 800-53 security control requirements.
- Partner with cybersecurity teams to track security assessments, remediation activities, and compliance milestones.
- Coordinate activities across approximately 60 internal and external application owners and vendors to ensure timely completion of compliance requirements.
- Facilitate governance meetings, remove blockers, manage dependencies, and escalate risks as needed.
- Track program progress and maintain dashboards using Jira Align, Azure DevOps (ADO), and other project management tools.
- Support continuous monitoring activities and ongoing compliance reporting throughout the lifecycle of the program.
- Ensure alignment across multiple stakeholders while maintaining project schedules and regulatory deadlines.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of IT Project Management experience leading large-scale enterprise initiatives.
- Experience managing cybersecurity, compliance, governance, or regulatory programs.
- Working knowledge of GovRAMP, FedRAMP, or similar security compliance frameworks.
- Familiarity with NIST SP 800-53 security controls and compliance processes.
- Experience coordinating cross-functional technical teams, including Security, Infrastructure, Cloud Engineering, and Application Development.
- Healthcare industry experience, preferably supporting Medicaid or Medicare initiatives.
- Experience using Jira Align, Azure DevOps (ADO), or similar Agile project management tools.
- Excellent organizational, communication, stakeholder management, and executive presentation skills.
- PMP, PRINCE2, SAFe, CSM, or other Project Management/Agile certifications preferred.
Preferred Experience
- Experience leading cloud security or regulatory compliance initiatives within Azure or other cloud environments.
- Experience managing large vendor ecosystems and third-party compliance activities.
- Familiarity with enterprise governance frameworks and cybersecurity risk management.
- Experience supporting highly regulated healthcare or government environments.
