Job Description:
We are seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician to support medical equipment maintenance and repair in a healthcare environment. This role is responsible for ensuring biomedical devices are functioning safely and efficiently through preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance (PM) and safety inspections on biomedical equipment
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair a variety of medical devices
- Respond to service requests and resolve equipment issues in a timely manner
- Document all service activities, maintenance, and repairs accurately
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure proper equipment operation and usage
- Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and basic configuration
- Maintain compliance with regulatory and safety standards
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in biomedical equipment repair and maintenance
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with a variety of biomedical devices (e.g., infusion pumps, patient monitors, beds)
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and customer service skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology or related field
- Experience working in a hospital or clinical setting
- Familiarity with CMMS systems for work order tracking
- Manufacturer certifications or training (nice to have)
