Patient Services Representative

• Fully onsite for the first three to four months, then fully remote
• 2 month contract to hire
• Compensation: $17.50 per hour

About the Role

Our Client is seeking a Patient Services Representative who will serve as the first point of contact for patients, engaging with them to assess their needs, address concerns, and provide clear recommendations. In this role, you will coordinate outpatient appointments across a variety of specialties, including routine, urgent, and emergency visits, as well as associated testing. You will be responsible for resolving complex issues by understanding large-scale operational processes, becoming a subject matter expert in appointment scheduling, and utilizing multiple software systems to facilitate seamless patient interactions. The ideal candidate will demonstrate outstanding customer service, empathy, and teamwork, and will be comfortable handling sensitive, confidential situations with professionalism and care.

Responsibilities

• Engage with patients by actively listening to their concerns and questions, assessing their needs, and providing appropriate recommendations and clarifications
• Coordinate outpatient appointments across multiple specialties, including routine, urgent, and emergency visits, as well as related testing
• Work with callers to resolve complex problems by gaining a thorough understanding of operational processes and procedures
• Become a subject matter expert in appointment scheduling, understanding nuanced processes and provider preferences to ensure optimal patient care
• Utilize software systems to manage patient interactions, schedule appointments, and document relevant information accurately
• Deliver outstanding customer service to callers through empathy, active listening, and a patient-centered approach
• Promote a culture of positivity and teamwork within your team, contributing to a supportive and collaborative work environment

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• One or more years of customer service experience, either over the phone or in person
• Demonstrated passion for providing excellent customer service
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to handle sensitive, confidential situations and build trust with patients
• High proficiency with technology, including the use of multiple computer-based systems, and the ability to quickly learn new programs
