Job Description
Calculated Hire is seeking a highly experienced Digital Assets Strategy & Execution Lead to support a leading financial institution’s enterprise Digital Assets and Tokenization initiatives within Corporate & Investment Banking.
This is a senior, business-side strategy and execution role combining elements of business architecture, product strategy, business analysis, and program delivery. The organization has progressed beyond the initial exploration of digital assets and is now focused on advancing its tokenization journey across securities, collateral, post-trade operations, custody, and blockchain-enabled settlement.
The selected consultant will partner closely with senior leadership to translate strategic objectives into executable roadmaps, operating models, governance structures, requirements, and implementation workstreams. This is not a traditional project management or blockchain engineering position. The team needs a strategic executor who brings real-world digital asset experience, operates independently, and can help build structure within a fast-moving, startup-like environment inside a large regulated financial institution.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive the execution of enterprise Digital Assets and Tokenization initiatives across Corporate & Investment Banking.
- Partner with executive leadership to translate strategic objectives into actionable workstreams, roadmaps, and implementation plans.
- Help define future-state operating models supporting tokenized securities, digital custody, collateral, and blockchain-enabled settlement.
- Lead cross-functional working sessions across Operations, Technology, Product, Risk, Compliance, Financial Crimes, Legal, Communications, and other enterprise teams.
- Evaluate how tokenization and digital asset capabilities will affect existing securities, collateral, clearing, settlement, custody, and post-trade workflows.
- Identify operational risks, control considerations, dependencies, and process changes associated with digital asset adoption.
- Develop business requirements, strategic roadmaps, governance structures, executive presentations, and steering committee materials.
- Translate complex digital asset concepts into clear business, operational, and implementation requirements.
- Assess current market practices and recommend appropriate approaches based on prior digital asset, tokenization, or financial market infrastructure experience.
- Support the evaluation of digital asset platforms, custody models, blockchain networks, and related third-party providers.
- Bring informed recommendations and industry perspectives rather than waiting for fully defined direction.
- Independently own assigned initiatives while navigating limited documentation, evolving priorities, and a rapidly changing market.
Required Skills
- Hands-on experience supporting Digital Assets, Tokenization, Blockchain, Cryptocurrency, Digital Custody, or related financial market infrastructure initiatives.
- Strong understanding of the securities lifecycle, post-trade operations, clearing, collateral management, custody, and settlement.
- Knowledge of tokenized financial products and how blockchain-based models affect traditional capital markets workflows.
- Experience developing strategic roadmaps, future-state operating models, governance frameworks, business requirements, and implementation plans.
- Strong business analysis, business architecture, product strategy, or strategic program execution capabilities.
- Ability to lead complex working sessions involving business, technology, operations, risk, compliance, legal, and executive stakeholders.
- Executive-level communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to operate independently and create structure within highly ambiguous environments.
- Strong understanding of the operational and regulatory considerations involved in implementing digital asset capabilities within a financial institution.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience within Capital Markets, Securities Operations, Digital Assets, Corporate & Investment Banking, financial market infrastructure, or a related environment.
- Direct experience delivering or supporting a digital asset, tokenization, blockchain, digital custody, or cryptocurrency initiative.
- Experience working on enterprise-wide strategic initiatives involving multiple business lines and control partners.
- Demonstrated experience translating strategy into executable plans, workstreams, requirements, and operating models.
- Experience presenting recommendations, plans, or strategic materials to senior and executive leadership.
- Proven ability to work with minimal direction in a fast-changing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with tokenized securities, tokenized collateral, or blockchain-enabled capital markets products.
- Knowledge of DTCC Digital Assets initiatives or other financial market infrastructure modernization programs.
- Experience with on-chain and off-chain settlement models.
- Understanding of hot wallet, cold wallet, and institutional digital custody infrastructure.
- Experience with platforms or organizations such as Fireblocks, Anchorage Digital, Canton Network, Fnality, Chainalysis, BitGo, or similar providers.
- Experience working within a major financial institution’s Digital Assets organization.
- Consulting experience supporting Digital Asset or Tokenization transformations through firms such as Capco, Deloitte, Accenture, EY, PwC, or KPMG.
- Experience evaluating digital asset vendors, custody providers, blockchain networks, or market infrastructure partners.
- Familiarity with Bitcoin, Ethereum, stablecoins, or other institutional digital asset ecosystems.
This consultant will join a growing Digital Assets organization and help move enterprise Tokenization initiatives from strategy and operating-model design through implementation.
