Job Description:
Technical Product Owner – AI & Digital Products
Overview
PwC is seeking a Technical Product Owner to support the continued evolution of the Sightline Platform, a global tax services platform and one of the most widely utilized client-facing portals across the firm. This individual will play a critical role in helping drive AI-enabled product capabilities, backlog execution, and cross-functional coordination across globally distributed teams.
This is a highly execution-oriented Product Owner role. The team is not looking for someone who wants to operate purely strategically from a distance. They need someone willing to roll up their sleeves, navigate ambiguity, coordinate across teams, and actively drive work forward in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities and constant change.
The ideal candidate combines strong product ownership fundamentals, business process acumen, technical understanding, and the ability to operate effectively across decentralized global teams.
Key Responsibilities
Product Ownership & Execution
- Partner closely with Product Leadership to help translate product vision into actionable features, epics, and backlog priorities
- Own and manage product initiatives across assigned Agile teams and products
- Curate, structure, prioritize, and maintain product backlogs in alignment with business and technical objectives
- Drive backlog refinement and ensure work is clearly defined for engineering teams
- Support ongoing sprint execution activities including:
- Sprint Planning
- PI Planning
- Backlog Refinement
- Defect/Bug Triage
- Delivery coordination
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Coordinate across globally distributed teams including offshore development and QA organizations
- Identify dependencies across workstreams, products, and teams to proactively remove blockers and drive alignment
- Facilitate discussions between technical and business stakeholders to ensure priorities and delivery expectations remain aligned
- Raise risks, gaps, and issues proactively while helping drive resolution paths
- Operate effectively in a decentralized, remote-first environment with multiple concurrent priorities
Product Delivery & Validation
- Work closely with engineering teams to understand:
- Current workstreams
- Product progress
- Feature readiness
- Defects and implementation questions
- Help determine and clarify how features should behave and align to intended business outcomes
- Validate that delivered functionality meets business expectations and product objectives
- Partner with PMs, Architects, UX teams, and Engineering Leads throughout the product lifecycle
AI & Modern Product Enablement
- Support teams incorporating AI-enabled capabilities into the platform and product ecosystem
- Leverage modern tooling and AI-assisted workflows to improve backlog creation, feature definition, dependency analysis, and delivery coordination
- Utilize tools such as:
- Azure DevOps
- GitHub
- AI-enabled productivity and development tools (ex: Cursor or similar)
- Understand foundational AI concepts such as agents, AI-assisted workflows, and emerging product delivery patterns
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in Product Ownership, Technical Business Analysis, Product Management, or Agile Delivery
- Strong experience translating business requirements into technical features, user stories, and epics
- Proven ability to work across cross-functional teams in fast-paced enterprise environments
- Experience managing competing priorities and navigating ambiguity
- Strong communication, facilitation, and prioritization skills
- Experience supporting distributed global teams across multiple time zones
- Strong understanding of Agile delivery methodologies and software development lifecycles
- Ability to proactively identify dependencies, risks, and operational gaps
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting AI, digital transformation, automation, or enterprise platform initiatives
- Familiarity with:
- Azure DevOps
- GitHub
- Agile tooling and backlog management
- UX/UI collaboration workflows
- AI-assisted productivity tools
- Experience within professional services, healthcare, financial services, or other highly matrixed enterprise environments
- Exposure to global client-facing platforms or highly governed enterprise ecosystems
Desired Candidate Profile
- Execution-oriented and proactive
- Comfortable rolling up their sleeves and driving work forward
- Not rigid or overly process-dependent
- Able to navigate changing priorities and operate effectively under pressure
- Strong ownership mentality with the ability to independently coordinate across teams
- Comfortable facilitating conversations with strong personalities and senior stakeholders
- Able to absorb information quickly, ask thoughtful follow-up questions, and convert discussions into actionable backlog structures
- Strong business process mindset with awareness of operational and technical dependencies
Team & Environment
- Oversight across approximately 1–3 Agile teams
- Support for 1–2 major product areas
- Majority offshore engineering and QA organization
- Significant collaboration required across multiple time zones
- Preferred working hours aligned to EST/CST
- Fast-moving environment balancing strategic initiatives, sprint execution, defect remediation, and ongoing product enhancements
