Jr. AI Developer
Remote (Hybrid possible)
12-Month Contract
Compensation: $40/hour

ABOUT THE ROLE

Join the Digital Strategy & Platform Execution team at a leading Fortune 200 Energy Generation company as a Jr. AI Developer. This team is at the forefront of building and scaling a pro-code framework that enables modern, AI-driven application development across the enterprise. Since its inception nine months ago, this initiative has rapidly expanded, becoming a core capability leveraged by multiple business areas. Rather than working within a defined project portfolio, the team focuses on developing and enhancing the underlying architecture that supports enterprise applications. You will work in a highly collaborative environment focused on AI/ML and agentic frameworks, contributing to proofs of concept, SDK upgrades, and pipeline development. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are curious, hands-on, and eager to learn and grow in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain software solutions with a focus on AI-enabled features and enhancements.
  • Assist in building and improving machine learning models and integrating them into applications.
  • Collaborate with engineers, product teams, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions.
  • Contribute to technical design discussions, documentation, and system architecture support.
  • Participate in code reviews, debugging, and performance optimization efforts.
  • Develop and execute automated unit and UI tests to ensure software quality.
  • Support deployment and maintenance of applications in both cloud and on-premises environments.
  • Engage with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Follow established development standards, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and innovation.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
  • 0-2 years of experience in software development or AI/ML-related work.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python (preferred), Java, or JavaScript.
  • Foundational understanding of machine learning concepts, data structures, and algorithms.
  • Experience working with SQL or NoSQL databases (e.g., Oracle, MySQL, MongoDB).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) or Linux/Unix environments.
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum, Kanban, etc.).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical teams.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance.
  • Positive attitude, curiosity, and eagerness to learn new technologies.
