IT Talent Development Specialist

Columbus, OH

Hybrid (Contract to Hire)

Compensation: $45 per hour


ABOUT THE ROLE

Brooksource is seeking an IT Talent Development Specialist for a contract-to-hire position in Columbus, OH (hybrid). In this role, you will be responsible for the design, development, maintenance, and management of training content and talent development initiatives to support the growth and advancement of Information Technology professionals. You will collaborate closely with subject matter experts (SMEs) and leadership to create effective training solutions, coordinate and manage talent development programs aligned with technology strategies, and assess the effectiveness of these initiatives. This position plays a key role in promoting a culture of continuous learning, development, and innovation, while supporting career development pathways and organizational goals.

WHAT YOU'LL DO


  • Drive collaborative sessions with SMEs and leadership to identify and understand IT talent development needs and align initiatives with technology strategies.
  • Create and deliver program and training communications using various delivery channels.
  • Design, create, and edit multimedia content—including podcasts and videos—to support talent development initiatives and programs.
  • Plan and execute the delivery of talent development programs, communities of practice (CoPs/CoEs), and forums for technology colleagues.
  • Coordinate and facilitate program training sessions, workshops, and events, including scheduling, material creation, communication, and technical setup.
  • Collaborate with Talent Development Specialists and SMEs to design, develop, and distribute program content and resources.
  • Design and develop programs to meet identified IT talent development needs and initiatives.
  • Track and analyze program participation and feedback to determine effectiveness, identify gaps, and recommend and implement improvements.
  • Maintain and update individual program SharePoint sites, Wikis, and Knowledge Bases.
  • Drive collaboration sessions with Technology SMEs to identify talent development initiative needs and support career development pathways.
  • Provide career development support and guidance to technology colleagues.
  • Recommend training and certifications for IT roles in collaboration with SMEs.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert within Technology regarding talent development initiatives and programs.
  • Stay current on technology, learning and development trends, and organizational goals to identify and recommend new talent development opportunities.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to Talent Development Specialists.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU BRING


  • 5+ years of experience in instructional design, curriculum design, or talent development within a technology organization, including the design, development, and delivery of talent development initiatives.
  • Strong interest in technology and experience supporting the growth and development of IT professionals.
  • Proven experience planning, scheduling, and coordinating logistics for talent development initiatives (events, workshops, forums, training, etc.).
  • Experience designing, planning, and delivering talent development programs and initiatives, with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Experience creating and editing content for newsletters, podcasts, videos, and other communication deliverables using various channels and tools.
  • Experience designing, creating, and editing training content for SharePoint sites, Wiki sites, workflows, and forms.
  • Strong data analysis skills to identify trends, gaps, and create reporting and metrics to inform program improvements.
  • Interest in emerging technologies and experience developing related training initiatives or programs.
  • Solid understanding of software development lifecycles (SDLC), Agile, DevOps, and their application to talent development.
  • Strong understanding of technology roles, organizational structure, and certifications.
  • Excellent storytelling and communication skills for engaging both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Prior experience in an Information Technology role (preferred).
  • Experience supporting talent development initiatives in an IT organization (preferred).
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau to report on learning impact (preferred).
  • Understanding of DEI best practices in learning and development leadership (preferred).
  • Basic understanding of change management principles (preferred).
