Job Title: Senior Lawson Accountant – ERP Backfill

Location: Remote / Hybrid (Houston preferred)

Position Overview

The Senior Lawson Accountant are responsible for performing core accounting and reporting activities across Memorial Hermann’s entities. Senior Accountants 5 - 7 years experience will join the team, lead and serve as subject matter experts in their areas of focus. All will post journal entries, perform reconciliations, and close deliverables under the guidance of senior staff.

Job Responsibilities

General Responsibilities (All Levels)

• Prepare and post journal entries in Lawson
• Perform monthly and quarterly reconciliations in Blackline
• Conduct variance analysis and ensure timely month-end close
• Assist with quarterly and year-end audits led by EY
• Support financial reporting deliverables and internal controls
• Partner with the ERP project team on data validation and reporting accuracy as needed
• Maintain process documentation and compliance with internal standards

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (from accredited university; non-negotiable)
• 5 - 7 years of experience
• Strong Lawson (Infor) and Excel skills required
• Experience with Blackline
• Healthcare industry background a plus, not required
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Local preferred, remote/hybrid considered 
• Advanced and technical accounting and analysis
• External financial reporting - GAAP
• Investments including alternative investments and strategic investments – private market adjustments
• System benefits allocations, Group health claims, Insurance Liability reserves, Debt accounting – bonds, capitalized interest, Review and post journal entries, Pension plan audit
