Project Manager – EDI Interface Implementation
Remote Role
Compensation: $35-$40/hour
ABOUT THE ROLE
Our Client is seeking a Project Manager to oversee the implementation of electronic data interchange (EDI) interfaces between their systems and various EMR/EHR, HIS, and LIS software platforms, supporting electronic lab orders and results. This position is responsible for all project management tasks associated with interface implementation, including successful interaction and communication with internal and external clients, as well as software vendors. The Project Manager will manage, prioritize, and escalate project tasks, maintain effective and detailed project documentation, and facilitate project meetings, conference calls, and status updates. After gaining experience on the team, the Project Manager will also train and mentor new team members in both technical and non-technical workflows. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, client-focused environment, demonstrate strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities, and have experience with healthcare workflows, HL7 specifications, and process improvement.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Provide comprehensive project management support for EDI interface implementations between client systems and EMR/EHR, HIS, LIS software
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration with internal and external clients
- Coordinate and communicate with software vendors throughout the implementation process
- Manage, prioritize, and escalate tasks related to interface implementation projects as needed
- Maintain detailed and accurate project documentation; ensure all records are up-to-date and organized
- Train and mentor new Project Managers in connectivity, testing, kick-off calls, status calls, go live calls, and project workflows after gaining experience
- Lead and assist in the training of new team members as a Primary Training PM
- Facilitate project meetings, conference calls, and status updates with stakeholders
- Troubleshoot and resolve project-related issues, offering solutions and process improvements; develop short-term problem circumvention strategies as needed
- Promote strong client relationships, anticipate client needs, and ensure client requirements are addressed
- Foster and promote good customer relations; facilitate projects, conference calls, and meetings with clients and vendors of varying technical backgrounds
- Innovate and contribute to process improvement and development initiatives within the team
- Work collaboratively in a fast-paced, open-ended, team-oriented environment; demonstrate flexibility and adaptability
WHAT YOU BRING
- 4-year college degree or equivalent military experience and leadership
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience managing workflows of EMR software implementations
- Thorough understanding and working knowledge of MS Office (Word & Excel)
- Strong client and vendor communication skills across varying technical backgrounds
- Experience providing project management support for EDI interface implementations
- Ability to manage, prioritize, and escalate tasks in interface implementation projects
- Detail-oriented with effective project documentation skills
- Process improvement and development skills background helpful
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, open-ended, team-oriented environment; flexibility and adaptability required
- Knowledge of Healthcare, HL7 specifications, and healthcare industry workflows helpful
- Client-focused with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities; able to anticipate client needs and offer solutions
- Experience training and mentoring new Project Managers on technical and non-technical workflows; ability to lead training as a Primary Training PM
- Results-focused, innovative, and able to develop short-term problem circumvention strategies
