Senior Front End Developer
Remote role
This is a Remote role.
Compensation: $60 per hour
ABOUT THE ROLE
Our client is seeking a Senior Front End Developer to lead the rewrite of existing front-end applications utilizing a new enterprise design system. This is a hands-on, developer-focused role where you will be responsible for building, implementing, and scaling reusable React components, translating design system specifications into high-quality UI code, and ensuring consistency, performance, accessibility, and maintainability across the user interface. You will collaborate closely with a tightly knit core engineering team, Product Managers, and Designers, taking full ownership of front-end delivery and contributing to architectural decisions and best practices. The project officially kicks off next month and will run through the end of the year, with potential for conversion to full-time based on mutual fit. WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Lead the rewrite of existing front-end applications to align with a new enterprise design system
- Build, implement, and maintain reusable, scalable React components
- Translate design system specifications into high-quality, functional UI code
- Own front-end implementation end-to-end as the senior engineer on the project
- Collaborate closely with engineering, Product, and Design teams
- Ensure consistency, performance, accessibility, and maintainability across the UI
- Contribute to front-end architecture decisions and best practices
- Partner with Design to ensure accurate and scalable implementation of the design system
- Work as part of a tightly knit core team
- Take full ownership of front-end delivery and work independently
WHAT YOU BRING
- Extensive hands-on experience with React
- Proven track record building and implementing design systems (component libraries, tokens, patterns)
- Experience working with enterprise-level design systems strongly preferred
- Strong coding and implementation skills with a developer-first mindset
- Ability to work independently and take full ownership of front-end delivery
- Experience translating design system specifications into high-quality, functional UI code
- Demonstrated ability to build, implement, and maintain reusable, scalable React components
- Experience collaborating with engineering, product, and design teams
- Commitment to UI consistency, performance, accessibility, and maintainability
- Experience contributing to front-end architecture decisions and best practices
- Nice to have: Ruby experience
- Startup-only experience may not be sufficient for this role
- Healthcare industry experience is not required
