Software Developer
Hybrid Role
Compensation: $50-55/hr.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Join a fast-growing team developing automation solutions for a Fortune 50 telecommunications client within their Technology Enablement organization. As a Software Developer, you will play a key role in supporting infrastructure automation and reporting initiatives, applying your expertise in scripting and configuration management tools to automate infrastructure and environmental changes. You will collaborate closely with both development and operational teams, contribute to accurate asset inventory reporting and dashboarding for IT Management, and take ownership at the solution level. This is an exciting opportunity for a team player who thrives in a dynamic environment and is passionate about driving operational efficiency through automation.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Develop and implement automation solutions using Ansible/YAML, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), GitLab, and CI/CD tools
- Utilize scripting languages such as Perl, Python, Bash, and PowerShell to automate infrastructure and environmental changes
- Design and build solutions leveraging modern architecture patterns and REST APIs
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation to support standards and procedures
- Collaborate with development and operational teams to gather requirements and deliver automation for infrastructure teams
- Define and implement standards that enable automation capabilities in partnership with operational teams
- Apply DevOps practices including infrastructure automation, continuous integration/testing, and continuous delivery
- Work with SDLC and DevOps tools such as GitHub/Bitbucket, Ansible, Puppet/Chef, Jenkins, or similar
- Diagnose and resolve infrastructure-related issues efficiently
- Support accurate asset inventory reporting and dashboarding for IT Management
- Demonstrate strong teamwork, ownership of solutions, and adaptability in a fast-growing environment
- Import and transform data from disparate sources for data warehousing (ETL) as needed
- Leverage SQL skills and work with enterprise-scale database platforms; Oracle PL/SQL and APEX experience is a plus
- Utilize knowledge of cloud technologies such as AWS or Azure when applicable
- Apply understanding of data warehousing models such as Star Schema or Data Vault
WHAT YOU BRING
- Experience developing automation using Ansible/YAML, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), GitLab, and CI/CD tools
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Perl, Python, Bash, and PowerShell
- Ability to build solutions using modern architecture patterns and REST APIs
- Strong documentation skills to support standards and procedures
- Collaboration skills to gather requirements and deliver automation for infrastructure teams
- Experience partnering with operational teams to define automation standards
- Knowledge of DevOps practices including infrastructure automation, CI/CD, and testing
- Familiarity with SDLC and DevOps tools (e.g., GitHub/Bitbucket, Ansible, Puppet/Chef, Jenkins)
- Demonstrated teamwork, ownership, and adaptability
- Ability to diagnose and resolve infrastructure-related issues efficiently
- Experience with ETL processes and data warehousing (plus)
- Familiarity with cloud technologies such as AWS or Azure (plus)
- Strong SQL and Oracle PL/SQL skills; Oracle APEX experience is a plus
- Knowledge of enterprise-scale database platforms and data warehousing models (plus)
