Data Center Technician
On-Site role
Compensation: $21 per hour
ABOUT THE ROLE
Our Client is seeking a skilled Data Center Technician to join their rapidly expanding team. In this role, you will support the maintenance and operation of advanced cloud computing server technologies by maintaining the hardware infrastructure and ensuring optimal performance. You will be responsible for deploying, diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, and decommissioning hardware, network, and server infrastructure, as well as documenting projects and maintenance activities. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical aptitude, analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate complex technical information effectively to individuals with varying levels of technical knowledge. You must be able to work independently or as part of a team in high-pressure, time-sensitive environments while managing multiple priorities and contributing to team development.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Deploy, diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and decommission hardware, network, and server infrastructure
- Install, configure, and maintain data center hardware and software systems
- Perform network installations, including Ethernet and VoIP systems
- Conduct equipment repairs and resolve technical issues as they arise
- Utilize hand tools for maintenance and repair tasks
- Work with Cisco routers and other networking equipment
- Conduct fiber splicing and manage fiber optic connections
- Provide field service support for data center operations
- Document projects and maintenance activities accurately
- Adhere to data center safety codes and standards
- Communicate technical information effectively with team members and stakeholders
- Operate efficiently in high-pressure, time-sensitive situations while managing multiple priorities
- Contribute to team development and collaborate across teams
WHAT YOU BRING
- Proven ability to quickly and accurately resolve server and network hardware issues using root cause analysis
- Solid understanding of computers, servers, network devices, and command line diagnostics
- Technical aptitude with strong communication skills for diverse audiences
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within teams, contributing to inter and intra-team development
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated initiative and sound judgment
- Experience operating in high-pressure, time-sensitive environments with multiple critical priorities
- Hands-on experience with hardware, network, and server deployment, diagnostics, troubleshooting, repair, and decommissioning
- Ability to install, configure, and maintain data center hardware and software
