Junior Software Engineer

Brooksource is seeking a Junior Software Engineer to join our development team focused on building and enhancing React Native applications for web and mobile platforms. This role will primarily involve front-end development using TypeScript and React Native, with opportunities to work on UI features, animations, and enterprise pipelines. You’ll collaborate with a small, cross-functional team to deliver high-quality applications and contribute to testing and deployment processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain features for React Native web and mobile applications using TypeScript and React.
• Collaborate with team members to implement UI components, animations, and transitions for mobile apps.
• Participate in rebuilding and enhancing core applications, including contact management systems.
• Write unit tests and contribute to automation testing initiatives using Cypress.
• Work with version control systems (Git) and assist with API integration.
• Support enterprise pipeline development and deployment processes in AWS environments.
• Engage in Agile ceremonies and collaborate across development and QA teams.

Must-Have Skills

• Proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript with experience in React and React Native.
• Understanding of front-end development principles and UI/UX best practices.
• Familiarity with Git for version control and API calls.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment.
• Basic knowledge of testing practices (unit testing and automation).

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience with Cypress for automated testing.
• Familiarity with AWS services and Terraform for infrastructure automation.
• Exposure to iOS and Android development.
• Interest in enterprise pipeline development and data transformation.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 0–2 years of experience in software development or related roles.
