NOC Engineer I

On-Site role


ABOUT THE ROLE

Our client is seeking a NOC Engineer I to deliver enterprise-level architecture, design, and support for a broad range of telecommunications services, including Synchronous Optical Networking (SONET), Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM), Optical Transport Network (OTN), Local Area Networks (LAN), Voice Over IP (VOIP), Land Mobile Radio, and Microwave Packet Radio. This role is responsible for integrating, supporting, and monitoring hardware and software solutions, as well as developing and maintaining standard procedures for design, installation, support, and upgrades. The NOC Engineer I will work both independently and collaboratively, leveraging strong technical and communication skills to ensure reliable telecommunications infrastructure. Overtime may be required (estimated up to 5 hours per week), but no physical labor, driving, or PPE is necessary.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Provide enterprise-level architecture, design, and support for telecommunications services including SONET, DWDM, OTN, LAN, VOIP, Land Mobile Radio, and Microwave Packet Radio.
  • Integrate, support, and monitor hardware and software solutions for telecommunications infrastructure.
  • Develop and maintain routine work procedures and define standard methodologies for design, installation, support, and upgrades.
  • Evaluate, acquire, design, install, test, upgrade, and monitor telecommunications components and systems.
  • Resolve complex technical issues independently with sound judgment and minimal oversight.
  • Apply and develop telecom technologies to support business needs.
  • Collaborate effectively within a team and build relationships across organizational levels.
  • Communicate technical information clearly to business clients and senior management in both oral and written forms.
  • Demonstrate superior knowledge of telecommunications systems, safety policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Research independently, multi-task, and meet deadlines under tight timeframes.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • CCNA Certification required.
  • Prior work experience in an Operations Center environment.
  • Experience with Cisco network equipment, transport technologies, or voice/cellular troubleshooting.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in a related field, plus 1-3 years of professional experience.
  • At least one year of experience with Microsoft Windows Operating Systems and MS Office.
  • Experience with position-specific technical software and hardware.
  • General computer skills, including usage and support.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with minimal management oversight.
  • Ability to research independently, multi-task, and meet deadlines under tight timeframes.
  • Ability to interact effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Superior knowledge of telecommunications systems, safety policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including conflict management and knowledge sharing.
  • Ability to present complex technical information clearly to business clients and senior management.
