Prior financial spreading experience is not required. Structured training will be provided. The team is particularly interested in early-career accounting professionals and recent Accounting graduates who can demonstrate strong technical fundamentals and a willingness to learn.
Key Responsibilities
- Review financial statements received from commercial banking clients, including Balance Sheets, Income Statements, and Cash Flow Statements.

- Review financial statement relationships, account classifications, and supporting financial documentation.
- Maintain accuracy and consistency while managing an assigned queue of financial statements.
- Follow established procedures, quality standards, and production expectations.
- Collaborate with team members and leadership to resolve questions and improve accuracy.
- Participate in structured training, ongoing coaching, and quality reviews to build proficiency in the financial spreading process.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field, with a demonstrated foundation in accounting principles. Accounting degrees are strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of the three primary financial statements: Balance Sheet, Income Statement, and Cash Flow Statement.
· Ability to identify major financial statement components, classify accounts, and explain how the three statements connect.
· Understanding of fundamental accounting concepts, including assets, liabilities, equity, revenue, expenses, and net income.
· Familiarity with financial statement analysis and basic liquidity concepts, including current assets, current liabilities, and working capital.
· Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
· Ability to work independently, follow standardized processes, and maintain accuracy in a production-oriented environment.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and general computer applications.
· Ability to work full-time on a hybrid schedule in San Antonio, TX.
Preferred Qualifications
· 0–3 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, financial reporting, or financial statement analysis.
· Hands-on experience with account reconciliations, General Ledger review, journal entries, or month-end close.
· Experience preparing, reviewing, or analyzing Balance Sheets, Income Statements, or Cash Flow Statements.
· Knowledge of liquidity ratios, including current ratio and quick ratio.
· Intermediate Accounting, Financial Accounting, or Managerial Accounting coursework.
· Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks or similar financial systems.
· Accounting internships, client accounting experience, or coursework involving financial statement preparation and analysis.
· Experience investigating financial discrepancies and working with supporting documentation.
What Success Looks Like
· Successful individuals in this position are comfortable working independently with detailed financial information and are motivated by producing accurate, consistent work.
· During the initial training period, the focus will be on learning the financial spreading process, understanding account classifications, asking questions, and building accuracy.
· As proficiency increases, individuals will take on greater ownership of their assigned financial statement queue and work toward established quality and productivity expectations.
Additional Position Details
· This is a 9-month W2 contract-to-hire opportunity with the potential for full-time conversion based on performance and business needs.
