ABOUT THE ROLE

Our Transmission & Distribution global practice is seeking a Project Manager to oversee a portfolio of small to moderate transmission and substation projects on-site in Lake Mary, FL, with a contract-to-hire arrangement. As Project Manager, you will manage, direct, and coordinate all aspects of multiple concurrent projects, including planning, engineering, permitting, procurement, construction, and project closeout. You will serve as the primary liaison between clients, project teams, contractors, and stakeholders, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget, and in alignment with client expectations. Reporting directly to the Lead Project Manager/Program Manager, you will be responsible for overall project execution, cost and schedule management, stakeholder coordination, risk management, and successful completion of assigned projects. This role requires strong professional relationship-building skills and the ability to maintain effective communication with the Owner, internal teams, subcontractors, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders. WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Provide overall management of projects from development through construction and closeout, coordinating activities including planning, siting, environmental, permitting, estimating, engineering, right-of-way, project controls, procurement, construction, commissioning, and project closeout
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned projects, maintaining clear lines of communication between the client, project teams, contractors, consultants, and other stakeholders
  • Drive project schedules, manage scope, identify dependencies, and proactively coordinate activities required to meet project milestones and in-service dates
  • Maintain detailed and accurate project cost forecasts, accruals, commitments, and monitor overall financial performance
  • Identify, track, communicate, and manage project risks, issues, changes, and decisions that may impact scope, schedule, cost, or project execution
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams, ensuring responsibilities, deliverables, priorities, and required dates are clearly communicated and understood
  • Facilitate project meetings, stakeholder coordination, action-item tracking, and follow-up to ensure commitments and project decisions are executed
  • Work closely with project teams to confirm deliverables and services are being provided in accordance with client expectations, project requirements, and established program processes
  • Support procurement, contractor coordination, bid activities, change management, and construction readiness as required throughout project execution
  • Provide clear and concise project reporting, including schedule, cost, risk, procurement, construction, and overall project status
  • Proactively identify potential project impacts, escalate issues when appropriate, and coordinate with the Lead Project Manager/Program Manager and client stakeholders to develop resolution strategies
  • Support consistent implementation of program processes, project controls, reporting requirements, and lessons learned across assigned projects

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, project management, business, or related field from an accredited curriculum
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive project or program management experience (Master’s degree may substitute for one year of experience)
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects through planning, design/engineering, procurement, construction, and closeout phases
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent projects, priorities, project teams, and stakeholders
  • Experience in electric utility, transmission and distribution, infrastructure, or similar capital project environments preferred
  • Working knowledge of project scheduling, milestones, dependencies, and impacts
  • Working knowledge of project cost management, forecasting, change control, risk management, and project controls
  • Strong client and stakeholder management skills; ability to develop productive working relationships across organizations and disciplines
  • Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary technical and non-technical teams toward common objectives
  • Ability to understand and communicate technical project information to manage scope, schedule, cost, risk, and stakeholder expectations (engineering design experience not required)
  • Ability to identify project risks, constraints, and competing priorities and proactively drive issues toward resolution
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and teams simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong meeting facilitation, organization, follow-up, and action-item management skills
  • Advanced analytical, reporting, and presentation skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
  • Ability to travel to project sites and client offices as needed
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet company vehicle driving standards
