The purpose of a unit profile is to help provide an exceptional understanding of the unit. Profiles will include location, number of beds, patient rations, and other unique details to assist recruiting professional in effectively and efficiently identifying highly qualified staff. Below you will find a data collection tool to help you identify essential data needed to complete your profile. I have also included a sample of a completed profile for your reference. Tell us about the unit(s):
• Number of Beds – 37
• Number of Staff – 9 RN, 3 PCT, Unit Clerk (7-3/3-11), pharmacy presence on the unit, 2 CM
• Type of staff:
o Day Shift – 1 charge, 9 RN, 3 PCT for census of 37, Director and ANM
o Night Shift – 1 charge RN, 8-9 RN, 2-3 PCT for census of 37.
• Patient Ratios – 1:4-5
• Type of equipment – Emar carts, bladder scanner, accuvein, Welch allyn vitals machines
• EMR – Meditech
Typical hiring profile
Skill Set Most recruited for: (Travel RNs, local CNAs and sitters)
Must have : candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role.
• BLS Required
• 1.5 years nursing experience
• Med Surg experience
• Can-Do attitude
• Good communication skills
Preferred or nice to have : candidates with these skills will be considered first.
• MediTech experience preferred
• Liver and Kidney experience (not necessarily transplant)
List typical procedures performed on unit(s):
• Nephrectomy
• Hepatobiliary (hepatectomy, Whipple, liver resection), with drain management
• Kidney biopsy
• Hernia and choley (will NOT care for fresh transplant patients)
Dress Code : Include requirements, but most of all not acceptable attire.
• Scrub Color – Navy Blue scrub top and pants, white or navy jacket
• Nail Policy – clean and health, without polish
• Hair – hair should be neat and clean with no extreme styles or colors. Beards, mustache and sideburns should be clean and neatly trimmed.
• Tattoos – body art should be covered whenever possible. Body art that is not feasible to cover on a daily basis will be addressed individually.

This is a very unique unit, with transplant volumes are nationally recognized. We have a very engaging team, both our unit team as well as our physicians. We host grand rounds daily on our patients – this gives the patient the chance to interact with a collaborative team of providers, each aimed at creating a specialized plan of care for each patient. We have 2 case managers and 2 pharmacists present each day to help our team deliver a safe and high quality experience for all of our patients.
