Job Title: Director, RCM Budget & Finance
Client: Large Healthcare Provider
Length: 6-month CTH
Location: Remote
Overview:
The Director of Budget & Finance, reporting to the Executive Director, will play a key role in supporting Revenue Cycle Management by preparing financial and statistical reports essential for decision-making, assisting in the creation and oversight of departmental budgets and metrics, and completing ad hoc reports and special projects as required. This centralized function supports six hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, the School of Medicine, and other affiliated entities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate independently to identify and define problems, compile and analyze data, recommend alternative solutions, and present findings to various levels of management.
- Duties include, but are not limited to, report writing, data manipulation, budget file development, and managing patient accounts receivable reserves.
- Generate various internal and external financial reports utilizing tools such as SQL Server, EPIC Hyperspace, Epic Slicer Dicer, SAP, EPSI cost accounting system, and other computer programs.
- Collaborate effectively as part of a team, embracing change within the Health System.
- Develop relationships across all facilities and become familiar with each institution’s IT environment and payer contracts, as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Health Administration, or Information Management is preferred.
- Experience in developing and monitoring budgets for large operations (over 750 FTEs and $91 million+).
- Expertise in analyzing and determining reserve requirements for patient accounts receivable.
- At least ten years of hospital receivables/operations management experience within a large academic medical center or health system, including a minimum of six years in a management role.
- Previous experience must include involvement in revenue cycle management projects and/or responsibilities, with a significant role in a redesign project and/or management experience in a highly automated, centralized business office environment.
- Proficiency in using team building and quality management principles to positively influence the work environment.
- Leadership experience in industry organizations such as HFMA.
- CPA certification is a plus.
