Position: Lab Specimen Processor

Location: Winfield, IL

Job Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for receiving, processing, labeling, distributing specimens
  • Performing non-high complexity testing as required
  • Perform customer service duties and other clerical duties as the job dictates
  • Maintain organization of work while multi-tasking
  • Communicates and collaborates effectively; includes information regarding problem solving with specimens, test cancellations, testing requirements, billing requirements with various hospital staff
  • Demonstrates an ability to learn the job duties assigned to the hospital and develops an understanding of the company processes, compliance policies, test ordering information, computer system
  • Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing
  • Pick up and deliver samples to clients/hospitals
  • Unpack and route specimen to their respective staging areas
  • Properly prepare and store excess specimen samples
  • Data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner


  • Demonstrates strong communication, organization, and documentation skills
  • High School Diploma/Associates required
  • Healthcare background/experience or interest in field
