Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Security Operations Specialist to join our Client’s IT Security ecosystem. The ideal candidate should have a strong a ability to work & communicate with a team of SOC, IT, and Business professionals, demonstrating a knack for clear and concise interactions. As a Security Operations Specialist, you will play a crucial role in handling incident responses, overseeing security operations, and ensuring the effective management of cybersecurity incidents.
Responsibilities:
- Incident Response Leadership:
- Take charge of incident response activities, demonstrating strong leadership in managing both smaller and medium-sized incidents.
- Provide immediate assistance in resolving security incidents, ensuring a quick and efficient response to mitigate potential risks.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with a team of 30+ individuals, including 4 leaders, to coordinate and execute incident response plans.
- Oversee and lead the security operations team, guiding them in handling incidents and maintaining a proactive security stance.
- Training and Development:
- Conduct training sessions for team members to enhance their skills and capabilities in incident response.
- Assist in the development of training programs to ensure the team is well-prepared for various security scenarios.
- Security Tools Proficiency:
- Utilize tools such as Jira and Confluence for effective communication and collaboration.
- Possess knowledge of SIEM and EDR, with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies.
- Technical Skills:
- Demonstrate expertise in scanning and identifying vulnerabilities.
- Stay updated on emerging threats, including 0-day vulnerabilities, to enhance the organization’s security posture.
- Desired Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in security operations, preferably with a focus on incident response.
- Strong background in enterprise-level security operations, showcasing a proven track record in handling incidents effectively.
- Location and Availability:
- Ability to work in Lansing or Grand Rapids, with a willingness to travel if required.
- Available to work closely with leadership on requested days
- Available to work in the office at least 1 day per week
- Immediate Start:
- The successful candidate will be expected to hit the ground running, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
